About Wood'search Marketing Wood’search Marketing Limited (WSM) was established in 1990 to assist the New Zealand forestry sector establish and develop export markets for forestry and wood products. Over the years WSM’s business has tended to focus more on the business of forestry and wood processing, including strategic and business planning, market research and development, investment analysis and advice, management audits, and project management. Dr Angus McPherson is the founder and Managing Director of Wood’Search Marketing Limited. He has over 22 years experience in the forestry sector in New Zealand, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Angus has a New Zealand Certificate in Forestry, a Bachelor of Forestry Science (1st Class Honours) from the University of Canterbury, and a PhD in Forestry (marketing) from the University College of North Wales, Bangor. He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Forestry (NZIF), and has been seconded to the NZIF Council. He is also a member of the Forest Industries Engineering Association (FIEA). In 1997 Angus was awarded a Tradenz Export Commendation for his role in the Guinness Gallagher/ FRI International team that corporatised the Sarawak Forest Department in East Malaysia. Angus’ particular areas of expertise include: - • Project Manager/Team Leader of consulting teams for private sector, government and multinational agency clients, working in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Turkey and New Zealand. • Consultant to public and private companies, government agencies and multinational agencies, working in New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and providing forestry, investment, business development and marketing advice. • Market research and development, business and strategic planning and restructuring, business valuation advice, management audits, project management
